INNOV-8 Science Event
P7 pupils were invited to a Science & Technology event at Cullybackey College. They watched, and in some cases took part in, a fantastic Science show by Scientific Sue. After a short break they were split into groups and went to various classrooms for workshops. Some pupils took part in Science experiments whilst others built toy cars. A great day was had by all.
Primary STem Challenge
Our team at the PRIMARY STEM CHALLENGE on 20 March at St. Brigid’s Primary School.
The task: to build a bridge that could hold a 250g weight.

Radar Centre
On Monday 5th March both P7 classes visited the Radar Centre in Belfast where they took part in various workshops which were all related to safety. They learned about fire, bus, internet, home and road safety in a very realistic environment. I think that it’s safe to say, that all enjoyed and learned a lot from their day away.
"A world of Difference" - The Titanic
The children were set the challenge of
‘Do you think that you could make a ball of plasticine float?’
They worked in small groups and had to test their creations at the end only. The idea of a fair test was discussed and promoted throughout.

The children were set the challenge of could they design and make a boat from coruflute which is powered by elastic bands only. They worked in small groups and each group had to state how they produced their energy before handing the boat over to be tested in the canal.
